Our COVID-19 Reopening Strategy

Updated March 9, 2021

On Tuesday, March 9, 2021 Maryland Governor Larry Hogan announced that our state would be lifting capacity restrictions for indoor facilities, including churches. The statewide executive order on masks and protocols for social distancing remain. This means that we no longer have to limit the number of people in our facility. Our Main Sanctuary, Youth Chapel, Prayer Room, etc. remain open and seating is spaced out to allow for proper social distancing.

Here at Crosswind we are committed to not only honoring our state, local, and federal leaders, but also ensuring we can make our church a safe place to worship. Following the guidance put out by the State of Maryland and recommendations of the Carroll County Health Department regarding the reopening of Churches:

Current Service Times

Sundays at 9:00 & 10:45 AM

Protocols

As we once again hold in person services, attending one of our, but every detail has been planned to not only be in compliance with state, local, and federal guidelines, but to ensure the safety of everyone in our congregation. We look forward to once again being able to worship with our church family in person!

Do Not Come if You Are Sick

We ask that if you or anyone in your immediate family is sick and/or has a fever, please stay home. For those who have pre-existing conditions that would make them more susceptible to COVID-19 or are immunocompromised, it is recommended that you stay home.

Masks Are Required

Per the State of Maryland Executive Order (Page 11, Subsection b.), it is required that everyone 6 years and older wear masks/face coverings while inside our building. They must cover your mouth and nose. This is not only for your own protection, but to protect those around you. We will have masks available for those who may need one. We understand some cannot wear masks for various reasons so we are providing the options of either drive-in or livestreaming services for your convenience.

Social Distancing is Key

The only way we are permitted to gather is if we strongly adhere to social distancing. This means keeping a 6-7 foot distance between you and others who are not in your immediate family and/or household. It is also recommended that you refrain from shaking hands, hugging, and other forms of physical interaction. We have prepared our facility to allow for a maximum of 250 people (50% capacity). This includes spacing our chairs throughout the building and providing multiple rooms for viewing the service so that our congregation can spread out.

No Food or Drink Provided

For the time being, we will not be offering food or drink through our cafe. This is in an effort to minimize cross contamination. You are permitted to bring coffee and snacks from home.

Additional COVID-19 Protocols

  • It is recommended that you wash hands frequently and use the hand sanitizing stations.
  • While inside building we ask that you refrain from hugging, shaking hands, high fives, and other forms of physical touch with people who are not in your household.
  • Our facility is sanitized before prior to Sunday Morning each week.
  • In between services, our Dream Team will disinfect all high touch surfaces throughout the facility. These include Chairs, Tables, Door Handles/Knobs, Bathroom Fixtures, Railings, etc.
  • Communion is available during each of our services and will come individually pre-packaged.
  • At the conclusion of our services, we ask that you exit the building and have any necessary conversations outside in the open air. Unnecessarily lingering inside is not recommended.
  • Our Youth Chapel has been prepared and designated for our senior adults and those who are in the higher risk categories for COVID-19. You must be 18 years or older to attend church in this area.

If You Have Been Exposed

  • A COVID-19 exposure is defined as being within 6 feet or less for 15 minutes or more of someone who is positive.
  • If you have been exposed, it is highly recommended that you get tested and self-quarantine until those test results come back.
  • While awaiting COVID-19 test results, please do not attend any in-person services here at Crosswind. Once you receive a negative result, you are welcome to worship with us in person.
  • Participation with Contact Tracing through the Carroll County Health Department or Maryland Department of Health is crucial for us to keep the virus spreading through our church.

COVID-19 Exposures in Our Facility

  • In the event that someone with COVID-19 has been inside our facility during one or both of our services, it is essential that they go through Contact Tracing with the Carroll County Health Department or Maryland Department of Health.
  • Current COVID-19 Exposure protocols from the Carroll County Health Department stipulate that any persons in direct contact (within 6 feet or less for more than 15 minutes) of someone who is positive for COVID-19 self-quarantine and get tested.
  • In the unlikely event that multiple people contract COVID-19 while in our facility, we will be forced to close for a minimum of 14 days.

Every Person. Every Place.
